How I gained 6 pounds in the good 'ol USA...

I was really on the mark the first week of our time in the USA- I knew that the wedding wasn't until the 2nd, and I still had to look oh so fine for those pictures. :) I only gained 1 pound.

You know you've been in a food desert and have been deprived when you find that the airplane food is delish, and you savour and relish every morsel of that tiny block of Dutch cheese enroute Amsterdam.

After the 2nd, I decided to let the wind take away all cautionary woe I may have felt after losing 18 pounds here in Kenya, and to go for it. Go for it meant to indulge every culinary delight and desire I may have in the 11 days I had left. And I did. Below a list of my indulgences:

How I (obligingly) Gained 6 Pounds whilst on Holiday in the USA after having lost 18 in 3 months in Kenya:

-it started with the Bacon Cheeseburger and large seasoned streak Fries, refillable strawberry Lemonade (4x's) at Red Robin...
-my mom's homemade Pizza (2x's, not slices, meals!)
- the swiss Cheese slives in my mom's fridge (at least 8x's)
-i ate an entire box (by myself) of Post Banana Nut Crunch in 5 days.
-Mom's peach PIE. 4 pieces, with whip cream, and ice cream... homemade pie crust, peaches from the orchard down the road, and warmed so ice cream melt in pools around the pie...
-Thai food- pad thai, green and panang curries, and almost a PINT of hot and sour, Tom Yum soup. . .
- Artichoke dip courtesy Linda= 1 cup
-Tonya's pioneer woman velveta/sausage cheese dip= 2.5 cups, with perfectly salty and altogether crispy white corn chips...
-Two shakes at Chik-Fil-A = strawberry, and cookies and cream, complete with large mountain of whipped cream on top, and a cherry each.
- Panera Bread's french onion Soup, and one super large Hot Chocolate with oodles of whipped cream on top.
-Olive Garden Breadsticks, salad, and Zuppa Toscana soup.
-Rancho Grande, mexican Yolandas- which wouldn't be complete without their drippy delicious cheese dip, and greesy corn chips, also- I had about 3 cups of their fresh homemade salsa!
-MIL's oatmeal, chocolate chip, coconut cookies... (too many to count)

True to form I have not lost a bit of it yet. My body does this sort of thing, it takes a bit for it to spring back into action and realize it can let go of the fat, there is nothing coming to feed it. We don't have scrumptious cheeses or whipped cream, or anything dairy really that is good. Do I feel regret, or remorse? No. I have Metformin, I have Jesus (not in that order of course), and I will lose the 6, and maybe another 10 by the time I become impregnated next. Just sayin'!
